Khayer Khal—a village historically limited to paddy and jute due to waterlogged land—a group of educated youth and experienced farmers founded the Magosani Farmers Producer Organization (MFPO) in 2018.
Transitioning from traditional methods to scientific aquaculture with guidance from Jalpaiguri KVK,NABARD, ADA, Fishery and other government departments, the initiative expanded in 2020 by launching its operating unit, Jalpesh Farmers Producer Company Limited (JFPCL).
Today, backed by MFPO’s and KWO continuous hands-on training and scheme linkages, JFPCL unites 410+ members across four gram panchayats. Beyond Jalpaiguri and surrounding 6 districts, its reach extends to Sikkim, Assam, Arunachal Pradesh, Bihar, Jharkhand, North and South 24 parganas and international markets including Bhutan and Nepal.
